Sports fencing is installed around the perimeter of football pitches, tennis courts, multi use games areas (MUGAs) and other playing fields, to protect spectators and nearby buildings. Rigid mesh fencing is best for high-impact applications. The open apertures of the welded wire mesh give through-visibility for spectators. All-metal grating systems are also available.
Rebound panels or boards are usually fitted to the bottom section of the fence to withstand impact and minimise vibration. They can also be used on their own to divide playing fields.
Netting systems, such as ball-stop perimeter fencing, are produced in higher heights than other fencing types, as the netting is lightweight and can withstand high winds. Netting can also be used for cricket cages and golf practice areas.
